About COST and LEAD-ME

COST is an excellence-driven EU-funded organisation for the creation of open and inclusive research networking tools in all areas of science and technology in Europe and beyond. Through a continuous open call, it invites researchers and innovators to submit proposals for bottom-up, multi-stakeholder COST Actions, which often involve the private sector, policymakers as well as civil society. It is possible to join ongoing Actions, which therefore keep expanding over the funding period of four years.

The Leading Platform for European Citizens, Industries, Academia and Policymakers in Media Accessibility (LEAD-ME) is the Cost Action CA19142.

The three strategic priorities of COST are:

• Promoting and spreading excellence
• Fostering interdisciplinary research for breakthrough science
• Empowering and retaining young researchers and innovators

COST does not fund the research itself, but provides support for activities carried out within COST Actions; such as conferences, meetings, training schools and short scientific missions (STSMs). These activities offer an open space for collaboration or scholars, engineers, researchers and innovators, thereby giving impetus to research advancements.
