Introduction
The LEAD-ME Winter Training School Lisbon 2023 will take place in Lisbon in early 2023. LASIGE and ETIC will jointly organise it. The school will offer lectures and practical training on the topic of accessible embodied interaction. Embodied interaction can represent an alternative to traditional means of interaction with digital media and other resources. This school will explore the use of biosignals or eye tracking as an input medium that can improve the accessibility of, for example, virtual environments. Trainees will also get to ideate and work on their own solutions in a full day hackathon style session. To participate in the hackathon, trainees are expected to bring their own computer. Other materials will be made available on site.
We invite participants from the industry and academia, both early-career researchers and seasoned researchers who are interested in exploring how embodied interaction can contribute to accessible media.
The Winter Training school will be a hybrid event, with the option to participate in the first day both face-to-face and online. It is free of charge, but requires pre-registration. Some scholarships are available from LEAD ME to cover traveling and accommodation. The max number of funded participants is 15, and the places will be assigned on a first come first served basis.
