Participants / Attendance
The attendance will be restricted to 40 students in total. 15 from abroad (MSc, PhD students, and young researchers eligible for COST funding) funded by the COST Action CA19142. The School can welcome up to 25 students from the Trabzon region. The School also accepts applications from candidates with their own financial sources. All participants must fill out an application form (Registration Form), which includes a short CV and a motivation letter. The Scientific Committee will classify students according to COST rules, including balancing career stage, gender, and countries of work. Candidates will be notified by March 28th at the latest. All costs will be reimbursed after the event according to COST Travel Reimbursement Rules. Trainees should receive an invitation from the e-COST system soon.
Reimbursement
Students will have to sign the attendance for each day of the School, according to the COST regulations. Eligible trainees will be reimbursed by the LEAD-ME CA19142 COST Project. To be reimbursed, students should submit travel tickets, reimbursement claims and carry out their obligations which will be specified by the COST rules.
Local students
Local students (from Türkiye) can also attend the School. They need to send an application letter in the same way as all other students. The maximum number of local students is 25.
Self-financing
The School also accepts applications from candidates that have their own source of funding. They will pay for hotel accommodation (the full package), travel expenses, and the registration fee is free of charge. They can be MSc students, PhD students, and postdocs. In the application form, they should indicate that they have other sources of financing; otherwise, their applications will be processed as any other.

Transportation
- Trabzon city has an international Airport. There are only a few direct flights from European Countries to Trabzon.
- It will be better to use Istanbul airports. There are flights to Istanbul from all over Europe.
- There are 10-12 Istanbul-Trabzon flights per day. The waiting time at Istanbul airport will not be long.
- Walking distance between Trabzon airport and Karadeniz Technical University is 5-10 minutes. With a taxi 3-5 minutes and cost 4-5 euros.
You have to check your visa issues.
Accommodation
- Trabzon is a touristic city with many accommodation options. Our suggestion to the participants is to stay in a 4-star hotel owned by the University, located within the University.

- Single room is 35 euro for a night
- Double room is 50 euro for a night (25 euro for each participant)

- There are many restaurants, pubs and shopping centers around university. Biggest shopping mall is 5 minutes walking from hotel.
- All activities will be made on university campus.
- City center is 5-10 minutes away from university.
- There are taxis and public transport every time.
- Taxi fee from hotel to city center around 8-10 euro.
- Public transport fee from hotel to city center is half euro.
