The COST Action CA19142 LEAD-ME Winter Training School was held from May 8-10, 2024, at Karadeniz Technical University in Trabzon, Turkey. The event, titled "Advancing Media Accessibility through Research Methods and Innovative Approaches," gathered 28 participants to enhance their understanding and research capabilities in media accessibility. The first day focused on basic concepts and qualitative research methods, with sessions led by Prof. Dr. Emre Erdoğan and a practical workshop where participants developed research methods.
The second and third days concentrated on applied research, practical skills, and new technologies in media accessibility. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ali Şükrü Özbay provided insights into effective academic writing, while Assoc. Prof. Dr. Muhammet Berigel and Serdar Özkaş led a workshop on creating accessible multimedia content. The event concluded with presentations on innovative technologies and eye-tracking, presented by Krzysztof Krejtz, Marta Brescia Zapata, Christopher Hughes, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ekrem Bahçekapılı, followed by a certificate ceremony and networking opportunities.
